About Us
Mike Magill, is the owner and Pit Master of Mean Moe’s BBQ.
Mike’s had the passion for cooking his whole life. Being in the kitchen or at the BBQ pit or wondering through the grocery store looking for the next great idea has always been a kind of stress relief for him. His first job as a teenager was a flipping burger’s at Harvey’s. BBQ’ing really became a passion for Mike while living in Leesburg Virginia. After a couple years of winning trophies in friendly neighbourhood BBQ competitions, Mike decided it was time to take the next step. In 2015 Mike enrolled in a professional BBQ school (Jacks' OId South) run by 4-time BBQ World Champion Myron Mixon in Unadilla Georgia.

Neighbour and long-time friend Nick O’Donnell joined the Mean Moe’s BBQ Competition team in 2016 and they never looked back. Since then Mike has trained under several other BBQ legends like Tuffy Stone, Tim Scheer and Brad Leighninger.
At every professional Kansas City Barbeque Competition (KCBS) event, each team must compete in 4 categories: Chicken, Ribs, Pork and Brisket.
We finished our 1st competition with 4th place chicken, 1st place Brisket for a 4th place overall. That was all the validation we needed. Mean Moe’s BBQ is now a Top Canadian professional BBQ team that travels across Canada and the United States competing in KCBS sanctioned BBQ competitions.
We have won dozens of KCBS Top 10 trophies in each category
Multiple 1st place awards for
Chicken, Ribs, Pork and Brisket.

Competition BBQ Team
Mean Moe’s BBQ Competition team was etablished in 2016 and they never looked back. At every professional Kansas City Barbeque Competition (KCBS) event, each team must compete in 4 categories: Chicken, Ribs, Pork and Brisket. Cumulative points for only the four (4) KCBS categories will determine Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion.
